Hi there!

Here’s another beautiful wedding for you! This was a smaller event at Moraine Farms, and one that I shot on my own. Jeffrey and Diana live in New York, and Diana and her family are from Sweden, so Jeffrey’s mom was kind enough to step in and do the majority of the planning for them. They had a lovely afternoon “English Wedding”.

It was a pretty hot, sticky day, but Diana did a good job of keeping cool and looking lovely!

Jeffrey didn't look too shabby himself! I almost didn't recognize him without a baseball hat.

Diana and Jeffrey are both actors, are as many of their friends, which lent itself to very engaging readings!

Married!

Off to the garden for a few not-so-formal pictures...

I absolutely adored the tables with row of little pots with herbs and tea roses.

Anyone who reads this blog knows how food-obsessed I am (lately I've been all about whoopie pies!!!), so you know I couldn't resist photographing this gorgeous display of food. The food was prepared by Fireside catering, who I just worked with a few weeks earlier, and they just make everything looks so pretty!

As if that wasn't impressive enough, here's the cake! And guess who made it? Jeffrey's mother!! My kids are lucky if they get Betty crocker cupcakes!

To honor the Swedish guests, Jeffrey's mom made a special trip to secure some Kopparberg cider.

They played the shoe game at the reception which is a traditional Swedish game played at weddings.

Cake not your thing? How about cookies? Yummmmm.............

I only met Janna and Kai in person on their wedding day, I had talked to them so much about the planning, I couldn’t wait to see all the fun things they had planned in person – nothing but cocktail food, cupcakes, the bride singing a song (she wrote!!) to the groom, and of course…a pinata!

Their rabbi had them back to back during the ketuba signing, it was a really lovely ceremony.

They wrote their own vows...

After the ceremony, we did some pictures in the Great Room. It was really funny, because right after their wedding, American Idol was on with the Boston auditions (not that I watch it or anything...) and they had the judges set up right where we did the formals!

They had such funky flowers, I have never seen roses like this before! Apparently, the roses are injected with the dye. And I just love forte tea...this pictures is straight-up for my sister Sue, my number one blog-stalker and also a big fan of forte tea!

Here's another first...the favors were cookbooks that Janna and Kai put together - "Our relationship in Food". I took a quick peek - I love stuff like that!

So, ballrooms and big fancy churches are fabulous, but sometime small and sweet is just lovely….

Mary and Curtis were referred to me by Anne and Gordon, fabulous 2008 clients who now live in New York. And randomly, Mary and Curtis now live right around the corner from me! I’m not kidding when I say I almost never get to shoot locally, and really so close I could run there. (OK, it would be a long run, but I’ve done it!)

They were both so laid back and relaxed, it was such a nice vibe to the day. Case in point, Mary picked up her flowers at the supermarket, and her mother added some flowers from their yard!

The church had gorgeous grounds, so we didn’t have to go far to get great pictures.

Adorable.

They are both veterinarians, so of course they wanted a picture with their “babies”!

They had a dinner with just the family, so I didn’t join them for that, but they literally beeped as they drove by my house on the way there! I was out gardening with the whole family. Congratulations you two! It was a pleasure.
