I love when I tell people that I’m a wedding photographer and they say that it must be nice to have winters off. HA!! If it wasn’t for February and March, I don’t think my taxes would ever get done, my website updated, or any new samples made!

However, one of the things that I do spend quite a bit of time on is designing and printing albums for all of my clients from the past year. It is very much a collaborative process, with my clients telling me what their favorite images are and their design preferences, and then I give them layouts to approve.

Here are a few that have been in the works the last month…

That one is a matted album - white pages with black trim. This next one is also a matted album, but with black pages and white trim. I love that I can make the openings any size I want!

These next samples are all flush-mount or coffee table style albums. I seem to have a lot of clients ordering these this year! The image covers the entire page, and you can layer images if you like, or just keep it simple.

I recently finished designing a guest sign-in book for a client, and I loved it so much I ordered one for a studio sample. I love engagement sessions for a few reasons:

1. If you are having a beach wedding, it’s nice to get some pictures in the city, especially if that’s where you’re living now.

2. I love to have another chance to chat and get to know my clients better, and learn what works for them when they are in front of the camera.

3. If you have any furry friends – this is a perfect opportunity to include them!

4. It’s really nice to have some pictures of yourselves that reflect how you look MOST of the time. Because, let’s face it, most of don’t go walking around with and up-do and a tux every mon tues wed….

And now another reason to love them! These fantastic guest books….check it out…

The binding is designed to allow the pages to lay flat, so it’s easy for your guests to sign…

You can always add an e-session and guest book to your wedding coverage, if there wasn’t one included in your package. Just send me an email and we can set something up!

So, I had a fantastic time at the photography convention in Tampa. My mind is buzzing from all the ideas I have for 2008! However, my top priority is taking care of all my fabulous 2007 clients who are getting ready to order their albums before I start revamping the website, redecorating the studio, and ordering new sample albums!
Last week I ordered five albums and finished two layouts. Here is a page from Lori & Mike’s album – it will be 28 inches wide and 10 inches high:
