fabulous/not-so-fabulous….renee and justin || londonderry, nh

Last entry is from Renee & Justin who had a perfectly executed day in their very own backyard with a little help from Alexis.

“Not so fab: you know it’s funny I am sure there were some things that weren’t fabulous. But they have faded away in the past year and a half.

I guess the weather could have been a nightmare with the thunderstorms. I am pretty sure I was annoyed with it at one point. But it cleared up, and the party went on.”

“So fab:
We were fortunate enough to have our reception at home. I look in our backyard and am flooded with awesome memories of that day. It was bit more work to plan, but I am so happy we were able to have it there.

On our anniversary we sat on our back deck going through the pictures and just reminisced about everything.”

“Also, you may have noticed a tear (or 500) in my eyes that day. One of those times was when I heard the first few notes of the dance I had with my dad. It was a total surprise. He got our dj’s phone number and told him, but I was in the dark. When “Tiny Dancer” started, I couldn’t help but cry.

It was a cd that he gave me in jr. high and we’d play it all the time when he’d take me to dance class. It was one of my favorite parts of the night.”

“I loved our wedding cakes. They were so beautiful. We ordered way too much, so we got to eat it for a few days before we left for our honeymoon. We actually had our family over the next day to help us eat it. Mmmm cake.”

Most of all, I got to marry my best friend. It was surreal and amazing walking down th aisle to meet Justin at the alter. But-he promised if I walked to Canon in D, he’d cry. He totally didn’t though!”

Thanks Renee! This is the last entry, so I will announce the random winner on Thursday, and then the post with the most comments by midnight on April 7th will be the second winner.

Good luck!

fabulous/not-so-fabulous….ali and sean || willowdale estate

Next up is an entry from Ali, whose wedding will be featured in the next issue of the knot!

“I was so proud and happy with the ceremony Sean and I created – it was original and it was “us”.  We were able to incorporate all my high school friends (aka ”Flower Goddesses”) and all our friends and family during our ring passing ceremony.”

”I loved the acoustic guitar and we got one of the only sunny evenings in August 2009!  We got our dream outdoor wedding ceremony.  A hummingbird even decided to take part :)”

“I was very happy I decided to wear Clarks shoes – so comfortable all night!”

“Overall I wouldn’t have wanted to get married anywhere besides the Willowdale Estate — everything worked out so wonderfully.  The only thing I would change would be reducing my pre-wedding jitters (which had nothing to do with the man I was marrying!).  I had no need to worry about things going smoothly — the ladies at Willowdale and my family wedding helpers made it all come together perfectly! ”

Thanks Ali!!
