Hello everyone!
Hope that everyone is safe and sound and with power! I’ve got a few things in queue here to share and I know my clients are dying to see the pictures, so without further ado…….here we go!
I don’t know if this a trend across the board, but starting last year, I seem to be booking more and more weddings over the phone and through email. Consequently, I end up meeting clients for the first time at their engagement sessions, at our meeting before the wedding, or even on the wedding day! Lauren and Steve booked me over the phone, so I had just met them in the studio the week before their big day.
I shot this wedding by myself without a second shooter, and started off with Lauren and her family at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. I love the old rooms there, and it was a perfect backdrop for Lauren getting dressed.
Her dress fit like a glove, and I spent the whole day coveting her gorgeous ring that was her grandmother's - it was her something blue.
Ready to go!
Lauren & I were the first ones out of the room, so I got a few quick portraits while we were waiting for her bridesmaids & parents. See what I mean about a perfect backdrop?
I hopped on the trolley with them, and we went around the corner to the church, which was tucked away on a tiny street in Bay Village.
Steve was in the back sweating out (literally, it was pretty hot back there...) the last few minutes with his brother.
I thought the buildings in the back were so classic Boston that I grabbed this super-quick shot of the bridesmaids right after the ceremony. I loved the soft pink dresses.
Married!
After the ceremony we headed over to the Public Garden for some pictures.
Here's the main reason why they wanted to come here for pictures - Steve proposed to Lauren on this very bench! We had to kick a few people off the bench to get this picture, but they were happy to oblige.
When Steve and Lauren came into the studio, I asked if there were any particular things that they loved or hated, and Lauren mentioned that she liked when I do a series. Ask and you shall receive!
After the Public Garden, we jumped back in the trolley and headed over to the Wellesley Country Club. It is such a beautiful new facility, but looks like this elegant mansion that has somehow always been there.
I don't think Steve was very excited about being the center of attention on the dance floor - but they did a great job!!
Their siblings gave some great toasts, and both of them got choked up during their speeches, which in turn makes me tear up! Lauren's sister was talking about a summer they spent together where they started out as sisters and finished as friends. sniff.
Look at this adorable box Montilio's gives you for the top of the cake!
Everyone was missing Steve on the dance floor, so I asked him if he would venture out for a bit. He said yes, but no way was he getting in the middle of a circle. Sure enough, as soon as he showed his face, he got dragged out into the middle of a circle. Sorry Steve!! Totally did not mean to throw you under the bus on that one!
Steve surprised Lauren at the end of the night with a Rolls Royce to take them back into the city. Fun!
Lauren and Steve are back from their honeymoon, so be sure to give them a shout-out in the commments!!!! The entire on-line gallery should be up in the next couple of days, so if you were a guest, be sure to check under the clients tab of my site. (usually 20% off for the first few days!)
Thanks and congrats!!!
