Happy New Year everyone! I still have TWO more weddings to share from 2010!

The first one is Catie and Jon’s big day down in Bristol, Rhode Island. I don’t shoot many weddings in Rhode Island, but it is so pretty down there! Even in December, which is saying a lot.

I started with the girls getting ready at the beautiful Linden Place, which was all decked out for Christmas.

Every room had gorgeous furniture and beautiful antiques, I could have spent the whole day just shooting on the second floor!

While I was hanging out with the girls, Meghann met up with Jon and his crew in front of Judge Roy Bean's, a bar where Jon and some of his guys play in a band.

So, the priest seemed to be a pretty relaxed and easy-going guy. However, I never would have guessed that he would use their nicknames - Bunny and Poopy - in the middle of the homily. Clearly, Jon and Catie weren't expecting it either! {and anyone who knows me, knows I love a good series, so here you go....}

It doesn't really look like it was December and about 35 degrees here, does it?

After getting a few pics by the water, we went back to Linden Place - so pretty!

I love that they have the same exact expression in this picture...

I love it when a bride and groom really have a good time on the dance floor!!

...and when all of their friends get into the action, as well...

So fun to be blogging another wedding!! I had two in June that I couldn’t blog, so I might have gone a bit overboard with pics on this one to make up for it.

When Erin came into the studio we couldn’t stop chatting! A little about weddings, but also about Hawaii, being a teacher (I used to be!), and running marathons (she has…I want to!). She was a good sport that it was about 98 degrees with 140% humidity on her wedding day. Ok, I might be exaggerating a * little * bit, but it was HOT!!!!!!!!!

Staying cool by whatever means necessary!

I really think Erin's hairdresser should have won some kind of gold medal for this hairstyle, it looked perfect all night long without looking slicked back.

I was so in love with this place! The furniture, the windows, the stairs.....and Erin looked lovely everywhere!!!

The guys were hanging out outside....staying out of view!

I was very lucky to have the super talented Kristin with me, a Rhode Island pro!! She was with the guys who loved getting their picture taken all day. Seriously – they would not stop hamming it up! This is probably the most serious picture of them.

So, after doing a bunch of great pictures in the beautiful gardens, how about some with the ocean??

Erin framed quotes from her students about love and marriage. Adorable.

Did they do the chicken dance? Oh yes they did! I know most people think it's cheesy, but I kind of think it's so cheesy it's cute. I loved it ever since I saw He Said, She Said with Kevin Bacon. I tried my best to find the scene on youtube, but I think that this movie was before youtube’s time! (And yes, I did it at my wedding. Go ahead….laugh it up…)

I also see lots of kissing from the clinking of glasses...but this was a good one! Chris walked across the room and kissed her in a giant dip.

I drove down to Jamestown, Rhode Island to meet the newest little redhead in town. I’m pleased to introduce baby Tupelo…

Her mom, Jennifer, and I have been friends since we were fifteen, and I am so happy for her! Jennifer and her husband David are the ridiculously talented couple behind Clancy Designs. They make amazing pieces for everyday use, as well as fine art pieces. Doesn’t everyone’s glass shelf in their kitchen look like this?

Anyway, I had big plans of doing a huge photo shoot, but then we just ended up chatting and I got to hold a sleeping baby for almost an hour, so we only got a few shots.

Yes, Arlo….you’re still cute….

David requested a picture of Tupelo in his hands. If you had a dad whose hands made stuff like this,

wouldn’t you want the same??

here are some short & sweet tips from Kathy:

#1. Pack a pair of super comfy flip flops for later in the reception. I wore the J. Crew ones with an elastic strap. They were a life saver!

#2. If you’re in the Rhode Island area, I loved my florist, Jay at Golden Gate Studios.

#3. Pack one big bag with what you think you’ll need- then put someone in your wedding party in charge of it.

#4. A popular decoration at our reception was wedding photos of our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and siblings.

#5. If possible, get all of the the little stuff done two weeks before your wedding day so that you can enjoy the week leading up to it. My mom assembled a bunch of her friends, and we put all of the favors, welcome bags, bathroom baskets, and programs together two weeks before, and it was so nice not to have to worry about that stuff when people were arriving and I just wanted to spend time with them.
