Edie and Ben || Boston Harbor Hotel, Boston, MA

Edie and Ben had an amazing day – so many great details, locations, and traditions I might have gone a bit overboard…but here we go! I met Ben four years ago at his brother’s wedding, and was so flattered that he wanted me to shoot his wedding, too. Everything took place at the Boston Harbor Hotel – the quintessential Boston location….

Edie couldn’t decide on shoes….so I shot both pairs!

Ben had just two requests for the wedding – the first was to have some Miller High Life – the champagne of beers!

width=

The ceremony was performed by the groom’s uncles – David and Jerry Zucker. They are directors, producers and writers for movies such as Ghost, Airplane, and Naked Gun.

width=
The ceremony was very sweet and personal, but also hysterical…and made it easy for me to get great shots like this one….

They called it a “Jewbodian” wedding, because they combined traditions from both cultures. This was part of the Sompeas Ptem, or Knot Tying Ceremony. They get water from a Buddhist temple dabbed on their hands, and then the grandparents and parents each tie red ribbons around their wrists.

At the end of the ceremony, everyone tossed palm flowers as a symbol of love and fidelity.

This was the groom’s other request – pigs in a blanket!

I always love the expressions when people are getting hoisted up for the hora!

Ben’s brother Jeremy, my groom from 2005 giving his toast. He will be the father of twins in the fall…so I’m sure we will be seeing him again on the blog!

And who doesn’t love dancing and singing with Ray from Night Shift?

width=
They had a massive sundae bar and cupcakes from Party Favors in lieu of a cake – yum!!!

width=
This was Edie’s special dance with her father, Ben and her mother joined in, and then everyone at the reception was doing this Cambodian dance.

I also got to work with Lynne Valeri again….always a pleasure! She films great wedding video without getting in the way. Ben, it was great seeing your family again, and Edie I loved meeting yours! I hope you enjoyed your fabulous honeymoon safari, and I’ll talk to you soon!!!

Heather just sent me your blog about Ben and Edie’s wedding. Your photos are exceptionally fantastic…just what I hoped for from you. It was a pleasure to see you again. I’m sorry I don’t have more kids for your wedding shoots. But I’m sure the little Breslau twins will be great hams for your camera. Thanks so much for your incredible eyes behind the camera. I can’t wait to see all of the photos. Ben and Edie are arriving today from SA. Enjoy your son…they go to other women so fast.
    Fondly,
    Susan (MOG)

Those photos totally capture the event, the personalities, the deep feelings, and even the fabulous architecture and food! My favorite one is the bride and groom up against the red wall. Looks like the cover of an album! The one with Ben walking with the little girl is universal. What a fantastic time we had at your wedding…we will never, never forget it…and can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures. Keep’em coming.

Wonderful! It is great to see Ben and Edie in some of the pre-wedding photos. Loved the black and white of Edie and her dad. Also, the photos in Boston and of course the ceremony and . . . and . . .
