Amy + Chris ||Commander’s Mansion || Watertown, MA

Hi everyone!!!
I am so excited to share this wedding with you! I met Chris and Amy on the Dana-Farber marathon team. It is such an amazing group of people and these two are no exception!!

Chris actually proposed to Amy right before they ran the marathon in 2015 – like, that morning! In their racing singlets and extra throw-away clothes!!! Of course she said yes and didn’t let that rock slow her down that day!

I didn’t get to run with them that year, but we did run together this past year, and I was so honored that they chose me to capture their day! We even ran our last training run before the marathon all together. It was a cold, miserable day, and these two pulled me through for sure!!!

Speaking of rain, there was a little rain that morning, and threatened to be much more, but it never arrived! Not a drop! I know they were disappointed that they couldn’t have their ceremony outside, but happily everyone got to enjoy the beautiful grounds during cocktail hour.

We started right at the mansion – first order of business – watching a video of how to bustle the dress! 😉

I love, love, love this room they have for brides – and Amy looks amazing in it!

We did the first look right out in front of the mansion – so sweet!

The grounds here are beautiful – so many great spots!

And this smoke tree!! I have smoke tree envy!!

Since they didn’t have the ceremony outside, we decided to get some photos by the grapevines anyway!

Time to get married!

Married!!!

Ok – now for all of the fun marathon-themed parts of the wedding! Their save the date was a race bib – complete with safety pins! And the heart logo on their save the date and invitation is two sneaker footprints! Adorable! Thank you to a few fellow DFMC-ers for modeling the racing bib for me!

The guest card table was broken down into 3 sections depending on when you met the bride and groom, and those were the waves. And then the waves were broken down into corrals (your table). Love it!! And there were cowbells!!! Excellent!
Also – Lakota bakery that always donates our “foot cookies” for all of the DFMC runners made their favor cookies!

Look at this adorable bridal party!

When you can’t find your sister or mother…any nearby wedding guess will do to bustle your dress!

Now this part was brilliant! Instead of clinking your glasses for the bride and groom to kiss, you had to make a donation in the jar for Dana-Farber!!! Excellent fundraising strategy! Kissing! Why didn’t I think of that?!

Of course I had to jump into the DFMC photo! Not sure why I am hanging on to Chris’ thumb but whatever! 🙂

This is not what I intended to do with this shot but I love it!

Congrats Chris and Amy!!! {insert marathon analogy about many miles ahead here} You had a fantastic day and I was so happy to be part of it!
